IntroductionThe MSc in Mental Health Services Research is a one year full-time (two year part-time)
programme which provides a sound practical and theoretical knowledge
base to guide the practice of, and interpretation of, mental health
services research, and an understanding of the context in which it
takes place. There is a strong focus upon methodology, study design,
outcome, cost and process measurement.
Based at the Institute of Psychiatry, the MSc in Mental Health Services
offers the unrivalled resources of a specialist national institute,
rated 5* for research excellence. Classes are taught by leading
academics, clinicians and UK, WHO and International policy advisors in
a range of disciplines within Mental Health Services including
Professors Graham Thornicroft, Peter Huxley, David Goldberg, Rachel
Jenkins, André Tylee and Martin Knapp.

mental health practitioners (nurses, O.T.s, social workers,
